HEARTS FOR HAITI

Designer set of (4) Valentine's Day cards (with envelopes) for $12. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to http://www.hopeforhaitinow.org in support of the relief efforts in Haiti. This Valentine's day, give love to your friends and family by giving hope to Haiti.

Please support the efforts of my bestie all the way in Spokane, Washington. As if I needed another reason to love her so, she is spearheading this designer campaign and putting good use of the god given talents she possesses. Contact me if you are interested, and at the very least please forward on to others you think may be. THANK YOU!

HOPEAU WEDDING

Happy to help a long time friend with her wedding. Congratulations to Kristin ‘Auli‘i Costa and Brandon Hopeau on their upcoming nuptials this summer.

PAPER ART

They say this art form is making a comeback, but it never really left for RealSimple magazine. I've always enjoyed the paper mockups aligned with their articles. What is new is the intricate detail work with the pieces that look like lace. God love exacto's!

The details and layering make me look at the paper in my office with possibility...

BABY GONE WILD

I absolutely love designing experiences. A cohesive event or space where the details are all creatively intertwined. We pulled this zebra shindig together in a short period of time and it turned out so cute. One of the easiest parties to plan with my best girls. So happy to do this for you Nan, congratulations! PS the loop forever!

WINDOW DISPLAYS ON CRACK

There isn't a huge need for these crazy concepts here on Maui, but if there is anyone out there that wants to shake things up, contact me immediately.

ME LOVE MUSIC

Surround yourself with good. Good friends, wine, food and music. I met up with Mailani in Oahu and she introduced me to this rad chic Yoza. Music is a talent that I don't possess, and am so lucky to be around people who do. Thank you Mai for one top night!

Mailani got called onstage. CLICK HERE to see Mai @ Mai Tai's:)

OHA CONFERENCE AT THE HCC

OHA put on a great event at the Hawaii Convention Center last week where I met some really amazing people. As much as I enjoyed the event, I was a train wreck at the end of the day. I had to photograph the nightmare to stare at in hopes of getting over my fear of heights. It may not look like much, but the doodle below is pretty much to scale and the walls are glass. Seriously, who's idea was this?

HCC is cuckoo for coconuts:)

TABLE TOP GRAFFITI

Throwing art on luau (picnic) tables is a hobby of ours. It took a few beers, some good music and weekend of good times.

CD WALL ART

Here's a personal project that always surprises people when they find out what the materials are...recycled jewel cases. In the age of digital music, here's a way to keep that plastic out of the landfills.

FUNKY FRESH XMAS TREE

We try to make an effort to buy local when we can, and although its pricey, fresh trees from Kula Botanical are bomb! Not sure what type of tree this is, but there are large, open spots that cradle the freakishly large ornaments that we just love. Yes, we gots big balls. This years inspiration, coral and reefs.

MAUKA TO MAKAI

Beautiful Moloka‘i at dawn. Taken from a plane on my way to meet a talented musician whom i've never met, and left with a great project and soulful friend. Mahalo Zhan for flying me over!

CLIENT GIFT IDEAS...

Even with the horrible photo quality, I still thought this was interesting enough to share. I took designs from my clients and created these personalized notebooks with a greeting on the front page. It doesn't matter what business you are in, you can always use another notebook. I have four in active use at the moment.

GOING GREEN FOR XMAS...

For the sake of being economically and environmentally conscious, we made these awesome chili pepper water seasoning out of rigorously sanitized, recycled Heineken bottles for our gifts this year. The ironic chili snowflake was spray painted on the bottles and the tag on the right was on a key chain that just sat on the neck of the bottle. Bottoms up!

HELLO + WELCOME

In all attempts to connect, inspire, learn and create, Artistry8 will now be available digitally through blogging, facebook, and possibly a twitter. The possibilities are endless. After all, it is a new year and time for some new things.

As a creative professional, it is my job to create for others, bring meaning and life into things, and quite honestly just make things beautiful. Life is good and there are so many other creative things we creatives do in our daily lives that often don't have the honor or privilege to make it in our portfolios. Those things have to live too, so, another reason for this blog is to shed some light on all things creative that just didn't make the cut. From rejected concepts to last nights dinner, i'll try to include a range of things as they come.

Lastly, one of the reasons blogs exist, i'd love to feature the work and achievements of others that move and inspire me (with proper credit of course:).

For the love of beauty, stay tuned and enjoy!
